After We Invest

As a private venture firm investing the capital of a single family, we have the advantage of being able to practice "Patient Capital". We are not driven by quarterly valuation objectives. We do not need to worry about short term results to catalyze fund raising. We have no specific pressure for liquidity. We look to build relationships with management teams that will transcend a specific investment and build toward a long term relationship in future projects.

Our role in a given company depends on a number of factors, including the stage of the Company, the composition of the management team, and the skill set of our co-investors. Over the life of an investment we will play a variety of roles ranging from the tactical to the strategic. Our experience in dozens of early stage companies makes it possible for us to help management teams avoid some of the pitfalls to which we have seen others fall prey.

Some of the roles we have played include:

• Interviewing and recruiting key executives

• Leading strategic reviews and planning exercises

• Structuring compensation plans

• Evaluating potential acquisitions

• Developing alternative distribution strategies

• Negotiating new rounds financing and/or mergers
